Finding new love can be like a confusing chess game. And it may be that, that single lady remains single, because she is not sending out the right signals.

Healthy Argument Boosts Relationships

Many would say that arguing in a relationship is bad, but it also helps you to know your partner better.

In any close-knit relationship, arguing, fussing and fighting are pretty natural… almost a given. When two people are closely linked, or intimately connected, arguing is a form of communication that simply comes with the territory.

Whether or not you master this communication, however, is what determines if your relationship is meant to last forever…or for right now. If you care enough about your partner and want a long-term relationship, arguments shouldn’t be anything to fear or worry about – unless those arguments become abusive.

The Place Of Money In Modern Day Relationship

20120826-150235.jpg

So many have argued that money should not be so important to any relationship, but this article harps on how money can actually help make a relationship a lot sweeter.

Do you want happiness? The answer to that question is an obvious yes. Guess what? Money can increase your happiness. So many people do not agree that money can buy you happiness. This is not entirely true. Money cannot give happiness, but it can increase the level of happiness that people have. Continue reading

Cleansing And Healing

I couldn’t agree more. Just take some time to ponder all the variety of foods God created. In fact tear open a juicy orange, bite into a delicious nectarine, or peel a ripe banana and marvel at how anyone could doubt there is a divine Creator! Man has never come close to packaging food as perfectly as our God has.
The body can do quite well on vegetables, seeds, nuts, legumes and proteins. I ate those food groups, plus a small amount of healthy oils for many years. My health improved dramatically!
If natural sugars are no problem for you, add fresh fruit to your diet. These sweet low fat treats are packed with nutrients and enzymes. You will want to eat more vegetables than fruits, however. A good rule to remember. Fruits are cleansing; vegetables are healing. If you’ve been eating a lot of junk food, you may want to go on a cleansing programme. Continue reading

Is Divorce A Norm Or A Taboo?

The question of whether divorce is a norm or a taboo, which incidentally is the title of this piece, has now become an obsession in the minds of millions of Nigerians, especially now that some entertainment and ecumenical celebrities are seemingly persuading and convincing millions of Nigerians through their actions that it is the norm contrary to African tradition and scriptural injunctions. Some of the questions being asked by many that believe in the sacredness of marriage are: “Why the high incidence of divorce and infidelity in today’s marriage?”; “Why are highly revered pastors caught in the web of controversies that border on divorce?” and “Why are born-again Christians no longer seeing divorce as an act of disobedience to the word of God?” Like a bug, millions of Nigerians have literarily been bitten by the fairy insect called divorce. Before anybody knew it, the home of Paschal Njoku of Umuakuru, Emekuku, Owerri North local government area of Imo State had become a Mecca of sorts. Many people jettisoned the Sunday services to find out the truth or otherwise of the news.

There was palpable confusion in the community when AEB contact raced to the scene at about 8.30am. People were seen in groups discussing and bemoaning the tragedy. Others, especially friends and extended relations of the deceased family, wept bitterly, following the unexplained death of the nine persons in their sleep.

Silly Is As Silly Does

By Iretiola Doyle

The man was sitting in his car at a major junction furiously fiddling with something. Obviously there was some sort of vehicular malfunction otherwise which right thinking person would intentionally hold up traffic on a major road long after the lights had turned green?

The traffic warden initially took no notice, the increasing din of the car horns tooting impatiently behind the poor fellow drew his attention to which he languidly waved his hand in the universal sign that means ‘move it’. The car obviously in distress couldn’t, so finally he lumbers over and compounds the problem just like I knew he would. Continue reading

Greedy, Lawless And Wicked Citizenry

By Kate Henshaw

Driving home in the evening on a Wednesday after a long day in the studio recording new episodes of my cooking programme on TV, I saw so much that made me wonder at our mind set as a people and if the change we seek will ever come.

People have been provided with a pedestrian bridge yet they choose to cross the express road and the bridge is abandoned or taken over by petty traders. If it was not provided, they would complain and say nothing was being done. We drive with reckless abandon, driving against traffic, speed past when the red light is on (especially Okadas) as if the traffic lights do not apply to them; cut each other off when we can.
