Maintain Your Peace Of Mind

Letting go can be one of the most difficult things for us to do–especially if we expect some reasonable level of control in our lives. But when we find ourselves trying to control things that are outside of our control, we find ourselves wasting precious time and energy. That is what Karen is telling us here–that to channel all that energy that we waste trying to control things we cannot control, into living here in the moment.

When we have the ability to let go and let life do what it needs to do, we save ourselves hours of frustration, anger, and stress that comes about when things do not turn out the way we wanted them to. It is true that with enough persistence we can often influence the outcomes of situations. But at what cost? Loss of peace? Loss of time and energy? Perhaps negative influences on the lives of others around us?

Peace is meant to be ours. However, our desire to control life’s outcomes often tips the balance of peace in our life in a negative way. Do not strive to impose your will on life. Instead, let things happen as they will. And when action is required of you, do so in a manner that keeps the balance of peace within you, and adds to the positive beauty and power within the world.

As you go about the day, keep a strong sense of peace within.

What are some of the benefits of letting things happen as they will?

Why might we think it necessary to control situations? Why might we think it necessary to control the actions of others?
