Determined Choice

“Dance as though no one is watching you, love as though you have never been hurt before, sing as though no one can hear you, live as though heaven is on earth.” ~ Father Alfred D. Souza ….

The world is all yours to make of it what you will. It can be a world of great beauty and joy, in which every day you experience life to the fullest and give to it from the depths of your heart. Or it can be a place of misery, suffering, sadness, and confusion. It really depends on how you choose to see life.

The thing is… there are beautiful stars out there in the universe, yet some people cannot look past the clouds to see them. That is the puzzle of life we all are presented with: we have a beautiful picture available for us to create. And if we would simply choose to look at all the good in life, as often as possible, we would fill our lives with a “heaven on earth.”

Perhaps you can look to the multitudes of positive people in your life as examples and encouragement–positive imitation is a healthy way to improve one’s life. Or maybe all it takes is a determined choice.

Make today the day you choose to live your life with all your heart. There are plenty of dances for you to dance, and love for you to both experience and share, and songs that need a voice, and a life that beacons for you to live it to the fullest.

Live like today was a day lived in heaven.

Questions to consider:

Do you see today as a day of great beauty and possibility, or a day that you simply must live through?

What are some ways in which you can live each day to the fullest?

Who are some individuals in your life that live their lives to the fullest? What characteristics do you admire most about them?

For further thought:

Sleep my little baby-oh
Sleep until you waken
When you wake you’ll see the world
If I’m not mistaken…

Kiss a lover
Dance a measure,
Find your name
And buried treasure…

Face your life
Its pain,
Its pleasure,
Leave no path untaken.

~ Neil Gaiman, The Graveyard Book
