“For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.” ~ Audrey Hepburn …
I have never seen a smiling face that was not beautiful. Perhaps that is because beauty is truly perceived in the measure of beauty we spread to the rest of the world. When we look for the good in others, what we see is beautiful… and they in turn see a beautiful individual who has authentic care and concern for them. And when we speak only words of kindness, we build up love within the world, and the world sees us as a kind and beautiful creature. And when we walk with confidence and faith, with the knowledge that we are never alone, we walk with a beautiful poise that exhibits both confidence and strength of character.
The way we interact with others directly determines how others see us. When we are judgmental and self-righteous in how we deal with them, they see us likewise. Yet, when we try to look for the best in others, and encourage them to let that good shine forth, they see us as a beautiful person who enables the good within them–and there is plenty of good within all of us that is trying to be noticed and appreciated.
We create our own beauty in this world… beauty that is seen by others as well as by ourselves. Someone once said that if we were to treat others according to their potential rather than their current state, we would allow them to reach that potential. The same can be said about one’s beauty: when we draw out the true beauty within others–the kind that looks for the good in others, speaks only words of kindness, and walks with the knowledge that it is never alone–we allow him or her to become that beauty; and along the way, we, too, draw out the beauty within ourselves.
