“Don’t give up! It’s not over. The universe is balanced. Every set-back bears with it the seeds of a come-back.” ~Steve Maraboli …
A setback is not terminal… unless you make it so. When we look at life from a positive perspective, we begin to see that there is much to be gained from our failures and setbacks–things that “bear with it the seeds of a come-back.” Maybe I tried out for the team and did not make it. Well, I can learn many things from the experience that will help me to find success in the future. But I must recognize the opportunities that lay before me in my failures, choose to learn from them, and then persevere onward.
Sometimes we find ourselves on the receiving end of overwhelming hardships and misery, and the universe seems to be treating us unfairly. So how is the “universe balanced?” In spite of our perceptions of life as being out to get us, life is truly neutral–it does not pick and choose the situations we are faced with… we do. We choose them with our actions–who we hang around, what we put into our bodies, where we spend our time, and so on. We choose them with our attitudes–the more negative we are, the more negativity we create and bring into our lives. We choose them with our beliefs–when we let fear or uncertainty poison our thoughts. Our successes and failures are the culmination of our own choices and decisions.
Do not let yourself feel like a victim of life–you are not. And if things get tough, “don’t give up!” The winds of change are coming soon, and before you know it, the tough things you are facing now will be gone. And the more positive you are able to remain during the hardships, the easier it will be to discover the seeds of a come-back, so that you can plant them, grow them, nourish them, and then harvest them for success.
Discover hope today in the midst of any troubles you are facing.
Questions to consider:
Why do we allow ourselves to give up?
What are some things that we can do to remind ourselves that bad times will not last forever?
How can we help others to recognize that the difficulties they are facing shall also pass?
