Free Yourself To Fill Up Again

“The problem is acceptance, which is something we’re taught not to do. We’re taught to improve uncomfortable situations, to change things, alleviate unpleasant feelings. But if you accept the reality that you have been given–that you are not in a productive creative period–you free yourself to begin filling up again.” ~Anne Lamott …

Throughout our lives, the majority of us have been taught–or have picked up–the unhealthy idea that we must improve uncomfortable situations and rid ourselves of any unpleasant feelings we may have. This is simply not true. Doing so removes our ability to learn from those situations and feelings and to grow from them. Continue reading

What Is Your Perspective Of The “Dandelions” In Your Life?

“When you look at a field of dandelions, you can either see a hundred weeds or a hundred wishes.” ~unattributed …

At any moment in time, there is beauty and opportunity all around us. But do we see it? Are we looking for it? The field of dandelions is a field of weeds to many of us… but to some, it is a field full of wishes waiting to be blown all over the earth. It all comes down to perspective. Continue reading

Giving And Receiving

“God has given us two hands, one to receive with and the other to give with.” ~Billy Graham …

Giving to others is one of the most rewarding things available for us in life. I can give of my time and talents, I can give of my abundance, I can share of my compassion and love. Yet there is another way I can give, that although commonly overlooked, is vital to the effectiveness of giving… and that is being able to receive that which is given to me by others. Forgive And Move On

“We keep on forgiving not to absolve who have wronged us… but because the peace we grant them when we pardon… is what we give ourselves as well.” ~Mhey Espiritu …

Forgiveness truly is about peace… peace that we give and peace that we thereby create for ourselves. And although it is nearly impossible to forget many of the harmful things that others have done to us, or the hurtful times they have wronged us, it is well within our power and ability to forgive them. It simply requires a decision on our part to say, “I am not going to let the harm done to me from this individual live on in my thoughts and in my heart–I will choose to forgive them and end the hurting.”

The unfortunate truth is that we possess a much greater capacity to hurt ourselves than others do. And when we choose to not pardon others, we increase our anger and hate, we build upon our unhappiness and misery, and feed the negativity all around us. And the worst part about all of this, is that all of these things that we do to ourselves, are extremely unhealthy–spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically–and go on to harm us. A few long-term effects are increased stress, high blood pressure, ulcers, headaches, depression, and on and on.

The wrongs others have done to us that we refuse to pardon, truly are a poison to our mind, body, and soul. Make the effort to set others free from their guilt, as well as yourself. Doing so will grant peace to two souls who need not suffer the poisons of anger, guilt, and anxiety.

Forgive and move on today.

Questions to consider:

Are there any wrongs that others have done to you that you are holding onto at the moment? If so, why are you holding onto them?

What are some ways in which we make forgiveness difficult?

How can we make pardoning others easier?

Benefits Of Simplifying Your Life

Finding Lessons Of Life Positive

Merry Christmas!!!

“In our lives, things don’t always go the way we planned them. But life is like a big jigsaw puzzle, and as we enter these circumstances, we’re only able to see one piece.” ~Mark Martin …

There will be numerous times throughout our lives, in which things will not go as we planned. And as Rachel puts it, “that is ok,” for there is much more to the situations and occurrences in our lives than we could ever fathom. And by allowing life to happen to us on its own terms, we enable ourselves to become complete–to experience the things we were meant to experience, to gain wisdom and understanding from the places and people we were destined to encounter, to grow into the person that we were born to be. Continue reading
