Two separate bomb explosion suspected to have been planted by suspected, Boko Haram militant have left 15 persons including two soldiers dead in Maiduguri, Borno State. Hospital source said.
Pointblanknews.com also gathered that three other Igbo traders were yesterday shot dead in Bama town 45 Kilometres away from the troubled city of Maiduguri the state capital.
Spokesman of the Joint Task Force (JTF) in Borno State Lieutenant Colonel Sagir Musa confirmed the incident on phone from Maiduguri today but claimed that only one person was killed.
“One suspected Boko haram terrorist was shot dead while attempting to escape after detonating the first Improvised explosive devise (IED)” Musa said ” Similarly, an un detonated Improvised Explosive Device was discovered by the JTF troops in Gwange – Sabonlayi, Maiduguri Metropolis at about 1129am today. The explosive device was strongly suspected to be planted there by Boko Haram insurgents. It was recovered and detonated by the Bomb Disposal Arm of the JTF ” Musa said.
But a reliable hospital source at the State Specialist Hospital Maiduguri confirmed that 15 corpses which Include two soldiers were brought to the hospital.
” We received 13 corpses of civilians while 2 others were brought dead in military uniforms” the hospital source on phone.
Among those killed by stray bullet is an infant by name Ai’sa. The little child was hit by stray bullets of angry JTF officials who were shooting sporadically shortly after the explosion.
